PayPal:
pay with a clearer picture.

How you classify the payment matters, especially when buying from someone new.

Before you send

  • Use the appropriate purchase checkout when buying goods or services.
  • Check eligibility, exclusions, and current Purchase Protection terms.
  • Check invoices inside your account; do not call a number in a suspicious invoice.

Understand the limits

PayPal says Friends and Family payments are not eligible for Purchase Protection. Eligible Goods and Services payments may be covered, subject to terms. A payment marked as a purchase is not a guarantee that every loss will be reimbursed.

If something goes wrong

Open PayPal directly and use its Resolution Center or official support to report the problem. Describe whether you made the payment, someone else accessed your account, or a purchase was not fulfilled.

You’ll leave this site for an official resource. We do not receive your report.
